Riding the high horse makes YouTube history

I only listen to news and 1980s music stations, so imagine my surprise when I learned on Election Day, of all times, there is worldwide obsession with the “Gangnam Style” song, dance and video. My 13-year-old had me listen to it in the car last week, and I was like, “Wow, great song!” Yes, I’m lame. I raced home, watched the video and planned to gallop and side-shuffle like MC Hammer to celebrate what I fully expected to be a Romney/Ryan win.  Well, I may not be celebrating, but I’m still galloping.

If you’re one of the 10 people left in the world who have no idea what I’m talking about, don’t feel bad. Just catch up. Gangnam Style is now part of the global vernacular.

This global hit was so popular that it has become the world record holder of the most liked clip (with over 710 million hits) in YouTube history!

PSY (pronounced sy), South Korea’s one-hit rapper wonder, created the song to poke fun at those who live and play in the uber-upscale “Gangnam” district in Seoul. Hence, the “riding the high horse” dance move.

Now, watch the video, learn and listen, and go freak out your family and coworkers by busting out with the lyrics and dance. Be warned: Gangnam Style is catchy and addictive.
