In an interview Saturday, KT McFarland, Fox News national security analyst – and friend of Gen. David Petraeus – weighed in on Petraeus’ recent resignation.
“None of it makes sense,” said McFarland. “
She explained that when Petraeus was tapped for the CIA director post 18 months ago, he would have been investigated by the FBI, including submitting to a polygraph test. The results of the investigation would have been turned over to the White House.
“Everybody who works for the CIA gets a lie detector test,” said McFarland. In addition, they are asked “is there anything in your background that would be a cause for embarrassment?”
