The president made a huge gaffe at Tuesday night’s debate. No, it wasn’t about the Benghazi attack and not about the oil-and-gas-lease closures on federal land. It was about Planned Parenthood.
“There are millions of women all across the country, who rely on Planned Parenthood for, not just contraceptive care, they rely on it for mammograms, for cervical cancer screenings,” the president said.
President Obama has been using this argument throughout the campaign as the principle reason to continue federal funding of the organization.
In response, Oct. 18 was deemed “Call Planned Parenthood to Schedule Your Imaginary Mammogram Day.”
Planned Parenthood got wind of the plan on Wednesday and issued a statement.
“Like the vast majority of primary care physicians and ob-gyns, Planned Parenthood doctors and nurses refer patients to other facilities for mammograms based on breast exams, age, or family history,” the statement read in part.
In short, Planned Parenthood doesn’t do mammograms.
That didn’t stop pro-life activists. They flooded Planned Parenthood offices requesting appointments for mammograms, only to be turned away.
Lesson? Never lie to a strong, determined woman.
