The Coalition for More Jobs, Better Schools and A Stronger Economy held a press conference Tuesday to launch the campaign supportingĀ a slot machines initiative in Palm Beach County.Ā The ballot issue will allow slot machines at a licensed pari-mutuel facility, with the only license currently held by the Palm Beach Kennel Club.
In a move to compete with Broward and Miami-Dade counties, the Palm Beach County CommissionĀ voted in DecemberĀ to put the slots issue before voters.
Surrounded by Palm Beach Kennel Club staff and vendors, Mike Jones, chairman of the Coalition,Ā outlined the possible economic benefits the county could realize from the measure.Ā See the entire press conference here:
