So now we understand the similar Israel-despising relationship between the new government of Egypt and our own. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton listened to a speech by Egypt’s foreign minister, Mohammed Kamel Amr, in which he shrugged off his country’s 1978 peace deal with Israel. All the while, Clinton sat smugly, smiling and saying not a word to confront Amr. This approving silence indicated Amr’s words were just fine with our secretary of state and the president she represents.
This is a familiar role for Clinton. In 1999, she sat back with a look of approval and enjoyment while listening to an Israel-bashing tirade as Suha Arafat, the wife of terrorist Yasser Arafat, blasted Israel for poisoning Palestinians. Of course, this was before Clinton needed the Jewish vote to win her U.S. Senate seat representing New York. But her “silence is acceptance” role during Arafat’s speech did her no harm. She turned chameleon, as is her practice, feigning her love for Jews and Israel, and still won the Senate election handily with major Jewish support.
Our president will welcome Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi of Egypt in September, offering this Muslim Brotherhood guy well over a billion dollars of our tax money to keep his new government in the black. There is no doubt that Morsi, a terrorist supporter, will receive a warmer welcome than did Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he was ushered through the back door of the White House and was offered a non-kosher meal in the downstairs kitchen. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Obamas have a state dinner in honor of this Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood leader, replete with a full halal meal and an invitation to the domestic terrorist leaders of the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Islamic Society of North America. Indications for a bad four years for Israel and Jews in general if Obama gets a second term are a surety.
Again and again, I am confronted by my non-Jewish friends with a familiar question: “Why do Jews still vote for the Democratic Party?” My answer: “Sheer stupidity!”
