In case you ever doubted the beauty of Florida’s spectacular marine environment, I’ve got a video for you. I took out a fishing charter on Friday off Riviera Beach, and we were fortunate enough to hook a 50-pound sailfish. We couldn’t resist the urge to see this amazing creature up close, so a couple of my customers and I jumped into the water to get a better view. Using my underwater camera, I shot this footage and it’s an experience I’ll never forget.
A few seconds later, the sail broke the line and swam away. We would have released him alive anyway, since these fish are endangered and should never be kept or eaten. But he got away on his own terms.
