Political correctness will kill us!

When I try to have a peaceful, non-political chat with my liberal, leftist acquaintances, why does it always end up with them shouting and cursing at me about my stupidity and obvious hatred for others?
It always begins with them saying something like, “I don’t want to get started in on politics, but why did Allen West attack Debbie Wasserman Schultz like that? After all, she’s a woman and a breast cancer survivor.”

When I try to explain that he was merely defending himself from her baseless charges, the stuff hits the fan. “You’re as stupid and as biased as he is, blah, blah, blah.” I chuckle, shake my head, walk away and promise to remain mute the next time we meet, knowing it will never change.

Liberals and Islamists have the same technique when confronting an enemy. At first, assume the posture of haplessness to disarm the opponent, then go on the attack, then play the victim.

The American Muslim community, which apparently had its talking points prepared for 9-11, morphed into the victim’s role and even had President Bush spread his protective arms around them. The Jews, who were the victims of hundreds of years of Islamic terror, even had the Anti-Defamation League vacate its role as defender of the Jewish people by immediately calling for tolerance for the Muslim community after the attack.
Just who were those calling for revenge on domestic Muslims? No one. But Muslim Americans were still considered by Sen. Dick Durbin and leftist communities to be so threatened that Durbin felt he had to convene an official hearing at taxpayer expense to denounce “Islamophobia.” That’s the supposedly “unrealistic” fear we harbor of the likes of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the would-be Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve bombers, the Beltway shooters, the Fort Dix Six and the other “victims of Islamophobia” who planned or attempted to carry out acts of violence.

If we are to survive the assaults of the politically correct and the apologists, we have to wage the same war they are using to beat us down. We have to be outspoken, unyielding and aggressive without letting up. We also have on our side truth, history, intelligence and the strength of knowing we are right. And don’t let anyone tell you different! To quote an old Revolutionary War term, “Don’t tread on me!”
