This lame duck Congress, after having been soundly repudiated by the American people, continues to advance it’s Progressive agenda in an unprecedented manner by shoving one bill after another down our throats.
With the many challenges facing our country, including news that unemployment numbers are on the rise again, the biggest priority for the Democrat Party is to strengthen it’s voter base in 2012.
Furthermore, these corrupt Democrat lawmakers have the audacity to claim that this de facto Amnesty Bill will save taxpayers money! It’s an outright lie, just as we now see with the claims that the passage of ObamaCare would save you money on your health premiums. How’s that working out for you?
The Progressive Socialists will now try to shove this bill through the Senate today. If you have respect for the rule of law and feel it is not right to reward illegal behavior, if you understand that this bill is backdoor amnesty, pure and simple, if you believe the common sense explanation that this bill will cost taxpayer $6.2 Billion minimum, then I suggest that you melt the phone lines in Washington, D.C. today contacting every Republican Senator.
For the President of the United States to stand before the people of this country and speak of bipartisanship and then have the Democrat Party act in this manner is an insult to every one of us!

House Passes DREAM Act, But Bill Faces Tough Senate Vote Today

TheHill.comHouse lawmakers on Wednesday passed legislation allowing illegal immigrant students to remain permanently and legally in the United States.
The DREAM Act — a top priority of Democrats in both Congress and the White House — was approved by a tally of 216 to 198. Eight Republicans crossed the aisle to vote in favor of the bill, while 38 Democrats voted against it.
The bill now moves to the Senate, which is expected to take up the measure Thursday morning. The proposal’s success is much less likely in the upper chamber, where a GOP filibuster will require 60 votes for passage. The Senate shot down a similar measure in 2007, and most of the opponents at the time haven’t changed their positions over the last three years. Â
First introduced in 2001, the House legislation extends conditional legal status for five years to those illegal aliens who:
• Were younger than 16  when they entered the country
• Have lived in the U.S. for at least five years
• Have a degree from a U.S. high school, or the equivalent
Beneficiaries can apply for an additional five years of conditional nonimmigrant status if they’ve completed at least two years of higher education or military service. Afterward, they could apply for permanent legal status.
Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) said the proposal is “a nightmare for the American people.”Â
“It insults American workers, American taxpayers and anyone who believes in the rule of law,” Smith said. “How can we consider amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants when just last week the Dept. of Labor reported that unemployment in America jumped up to 9.8 percent?”
