Dan Webster Wisely Avoids Sharing Stage With Alan Grayson

Daniel Webster is showing Central Florida that he is not only a man of character and integrity, but that he’s also smart enough to stay one step ahead of Alan Grayson in the congressional district 8 race. Webster has just announced that he will not accept the Tiger Bay Club invitation to debate Grayson this Friday.
A few weeks back, Webster was willing to sit down with Grayson, however, as would be expected, Grayson insisted that the irrelevant third party candidates in the race be included. Third party candidates that would just happen to draw conservative votes away from Webster, who wisely declined to participate in this charade.
Now that Grayson is trailing in the polls and is in desperate need of a game changer, he agrees to debate Webster one on one. Again, Webster wisely declines the offer.
Of course, this decision is post-Taliban Dan, as well. Showing voters that character does indeed matter, Webster said, “I’m just not gonna share the stage or a microphone with a man who lies the way he does.”Â
For those who will claim that the voters of district 8 deserve the opportunity to see the candidates present their positions and defend their records, I submit that there could not be a clearer difference between these two men. Trust me, there is no confusion between what Dan Webster stands for and what Alan Grayson represents.
Just as Marco Rubio has said, if you are satisfied with the way things are going in Washington, D.C. and you can accept straddling your children and grandchildren with unprecedented debt and you’re comfortable being the first generation in American history to leave your children worse off than you, then Dan Webster may not be your guy.
Additionally, Grayson has shown us that he respects no man, nor institution and abides by no set of values that you and I would recognize. To trust that he would participate in this event without making a mockery of it is believing in fool’s gold. Doubt that? I only need refer you to the “townhall” on healthcare reform that Grayson held here in Orlando last year.
Again, Webster is in agreement, “I do not believe that a debate with Alan Grayson will be anything more than gutter theatrics.”
As for Grayson, he’s just going to have to huddle up again with his Progressive Left Coast friends and try to conjure up an ad that will provide the game changer he so desperately needs. Only I suggest that he not use the same fellow that put together the Taliban Dan ad, which will go down in history as the moment Alan Grayson lost his re-election bid. No pressure, Alan, you’ve still got 12 days…
