Early Voting; 1st Week Results
‘We get the government we deserve’

Â
With the first week of early voting behind us, Republican turnout is stronger than Democrat turnout, according to a report by the Orlando Sentinel. Â
‘After the first week of early voting, Republicans outnumbered Democrats by 3,315 to 2,633. Another 662 third party and unaffiliated voters showed up, too.’
Of course, this has little impact on the congressional races in the area, however, it does bode well for Matt Falconer and Teresa Jacobs in the Orange County Mayoral race.
The report goes on to state that in addition to the early voting totals there are another 19,000 absentee ballots to be counted. This puts voter turnout at 4%.
With one more week of early voting remaining, there’s still time to get out and vote. With so much at stake, this is a critical time to honor our civic duty.
Finding America at a crossroad, where the very make up of this nation is up for debate, many experts believe that voter apathy has led us to this point. Those who wish to ‘transform America’ count on voter ignorance and lack of interest to advance their cause.Â
By now, we have all heard the phrase ‘we get the government we deserve’ – which simply implies that the level of involvement and participation by we the people determines the quality of our government and elected officials. So, if you haven’t voted, grab a friend and a neighbor and head out to the polls. If you already have voted, encourage others to do the same!
