Grayson’s Attack on GOP as Al Qaeda Compels O’Donoghue to Launch “The Grayson Files”

(Winter Park, FL) —  In response to Rep. Alan Grayson’s (D-FL 8) most recent outrageous comparison of the Republican Party to Al Qaeda, conservative businessman Bruce O’Donoghue today launched a new website chronicling Grayson’s habitual behavior of self-promotion, to the disregard of Central Florida conservatives and independents.  The website, which can be found at www.thegraysonfiles.com, provides citizens with the opportunity to send a message to the controversy-seeking Congressman that O’Donoghue’s experience as a small businessman — not as a politician — is what’s needed to get the economy moving again.  The site includes sections on Grayson’s questionable statements, his associations with national liberal icons, his misguided positions on some of the country’s top legislative issues, and even provides the public an opportunity to report new Grayson offenses.

“Sadly, Alan Grayson has shown such utter disrespect for the Central Floridians he’s supposed to represent that I’ve launched ‘The Grayson Files’ to give voters the opportunity to stop him,” said O’Donoghue.  “To the detriment of our economy, he has supported some of the most ill-conceived legislation in our nation’s history, including the $787 billion Stimulus bill, Obamacare, and Cap and Trade, and he shows no signs of slowing down in his liberal march behind Nancy Pelosi.  I’ve launched this website for the same reason I’m running — Central Floridians can no longer put up with Grayson’s job-killing self-promotion and liberal pandering.  The only way to stop runaway wasteful spending and excessive taxes is to send a businessman, not a politician, to Congress who will insist on conservative solutions who put Central Floridians first.”

During a recent interview on Orlando’s WTVF, Grayson compared putting Republicans back in charge of Congress with putting terrorists in the pilot’s seat of a plane.  A clip of the video may be found at www.thegraysonfiles.com

O’Donoghue, who is endorsed by former U.S. Senator Mel Martinez and former Florida Lieutenant Governor Toni Jennings, was recently named an “On the Radar” candidate by the National Republican Congressional Committee’s “Young Guns” program after raising over $350,000 in the first quarter of 2010.  O’Donoghue raised more funds than all the other GOP candidates combined in the 8th District.

Florida’s 8th Congressional District is considered a “Tilt Republican” District by the Rothenberg Political Report.
